Virginia to Welcome First in the U.S. Waste Conversion Solution

CVWMA implementing recycling bins made with UBQ Material - a plastic alternative made from unsorted household waste

WHAT: Senator Tommy Norment, Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) Executive Director, Kim Hynes, and local stakeholders will hold a press conference to celebrate a new partnership with UBQ Materials, an Israeli company which has developed a patented process to convert all unsorted household waste--everything from banana peels to yogurt containers to dirty diapers to mixed plastics, cardboard and paper--into a plastic alternative. CVWMA will welcome the arrival of 2,000 recycling bins made using the material as part of a pilot program. Virginia is the first in the U.S. to implement this solution.

Members of the media will be able to capture footage of the bins and samples of unsorted waste at various stages of the conversion process. All press conference participants will be available for interviews.
