    Meet Lonnie Karnes @Seltek!
The Seltek Team is excited to welcome Lonnie Karnes as IT Operations Manager. Lonnie brings extensive industry experience with his technical and customer service background. He has instantly added value to Seltek by helping us streamline processes and create operational efficiencies that benefit our team and clients. Lonnie has a great personality, which is integral to Seltek’s mission to deliver the best service in the Richmond area.
We asked Lonnie to answer some questions for you to get to know him:
What do you work toward in your free time?
For me personally it is playing golf and playing music as much as possible. Priority one, however, is family time. Making sure both my wife and I are involved with the kids different activities, and still find time for ourselves is sometimes work in itself.
    What’s your favorite 90’s jam?
Must admit I got into the whole grunge thing in the 90’s, so anything from Nirvana and Pearl Jam is what I listened to then.
What is your past work experience pertaining to the IT world?
I have about 25 years experience working in the IT industry. Started in the Air Force as User/Desktop Support in 1995, then moved into Server and Networking before separating from Air Force in 1999. From there I held a few consulting positions ranging from Network Engineer, Server Engineer, Security Engineer before moving into more management roles.
While I have been Managing projects and teams for a little over 15 years, I have always been a hands-on, very technical manager and work to keep my technical skills up to par with current technologies. Technology is ever changing and evolving, so I like to keep up with my training, certifications, and knowledge as much as possible.
    What is your favorite food?
Just One???!!! Seafood is probably favorite food type/category, but will never turn down a great steak.
Where is the most exotic place you have traveled to?
    Negril, Jamaica
If you could have dinner with someone famous, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was my favorite guitarist/musician, and passed away before I ever had a chance to see him perform live.
Name your favorite movie and why it is so?
Shawshank Redemption. Great storyline, great acting.
