Chesterfield VA - The Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce CHAMPS (Chamber Helping Achieve Meaning Partnerships in Schools) committee presented a check for $1800 at our Chamber Monthly Luncheon held July 12th to Dr. David  Eshleman, Director of Career and Technical Education.  These funds are to be given out to students in the Chesterfield Technical Center programs.  They will help offset additional credentials through testing for students who may have a hardship.  The funds are raised through the Chamber's Annual Golf Classic as a portion of the registration proceeds go toward this CHAMPS initiative.

“As CTC works to help develop tomorrows workforce, the Chamber is doing its’ part to support what we know will be future workers and business owners," Courtney Johnson, Chair, CHAMPS Committee.

We are fortunate to have the work of dedicated volunteers, who are selflessly working with students in the classroom, preparing them to come back as employees," said, Danielle Fitz-Hugh, President, Chesterfield Chamber.

CHAMPS, works in partnership with Chesterfield County Public Schools to offer workforce readiness programs for students.  CHAMPS, also offers support through teacher supply drives and other initiatives to provide career placements and learning opportunities.
