• Area Coordinator - Non-Profit Group Homes - Full-Time Richmond

    Job Description
    HopeTree Family Services has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Area Coordinator in our Richmond, VA Group Home Network.  This position will oversee four group homes supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

    Requirements:
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a human services field, plus two years supervisory experience or minimum of five years equivalent work experience supervising a DBHDS licensed program will also be considered
    • Good verbal and written communication skills and computer skills
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record 
    • Must demonstrate the ability to understand and advocate for persons with disabilities
    • Ability to interpret and maintain appropriate regulations and licensure requirements
    • Represent the agency in a positive manner within the community
    • Regular travel within assigned areas
    • Background checks and pre-employment drug screen
    Responsibilities:
    • Routinely reviews and assures all program participant records, financial resources and medical information is accurate, complete and complies with program standards and agency policies are properly maintained
    • Coordinates the management and supervision of group homes, staff, and services in assigned areas 
    • Coordinates case management for program participants and coordinates program support to managers and families and ensures compliance with all necessary standards and regulations
    • Coordinates with the Manager of each program, case management for residents including attending annual planning meetings, SIS assessments, behavioral meetings, significant medical appointments and any other appropriate meetings
    • Works with Managers to ensure program participants are receiving person center supports and have opportunities to engage in their community
    • Develops and maintains positive family communications and relationships
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of and complies with the Human Rights regulations.Protects individuals and assists them in understandingand asserting their rights
    • Reports any and all suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to the Eastern/Western Director and Director of Compliance and Policy.Conducts investigations and cooperates with investigations, hearings and appeals
