The Chamber is Your Promoter
Running a successful business takes more than a great idea and a solid business plan--it requires marketing strategies that will get your name out in front of the public. The Chamber offers a variety of showcase opportunities such as Monthly Luncheons, Chamber Night Out, Networking…with New Members, Ribbon Cuttings, New Member Orientations and other activities to help you publicize your business.
Chamber Networking Opportunities offer you the opportunity to:
• Market your business in a very cost effective way
• Meet a variety of business owners throughout the county
• Meet other business professionals who share your views and challenges
• Have some fun

Monthly Luncheon Meeting
Each month (except for January) the Chamber hosts a luncheon meeting at Meadowbrook Country Club, located at 3700 Cogbill Road, Richmond, 23235.
After the introductions, table networking and Chamber business, a guest speaker presents a topic of interest. Past speakers have included governors, congressmen, county officials, college coaches and business experts.
The lunch is typically scheduled the second Wednesday of the month, and the meeting runs from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring lots of business cards and feel free to put your promotional materials on the Member Display Table.

Chamber Night Out
Another great networking opportunity is Chamber Night Out which takes place each month during a week night. The event gives you the opportunity to making contact with both current and prospective clients as you network and socialize in a very relaxed atmosphere at a fellow member’s business.
Host Chamber Night Out
Spotlight your business as you provide a fun evening by hosting Chamber Night Out. Once you have been a member for a year, you are eligible. Currently booked for 2011, we are looking for volunteers interested in “hosting” an event in 2012, Chamber Night Out is scheduled monthly from February through October with an average attendance of 75 to 100 guests.
If your business would benefit from this kind of exposure, the Chamber would be glad to help you host such an event and assist you in promoting it. We’ll even give you three minutes at the monthly luncheon before your event to speak and personally invite your fellow Chamber members.
Date and time are flexible and your choice. However, the majority of these events are held toward the end of the month after normal working hours from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Refreshments are provided by the host and consist of hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
Networking…with New Members
In an effort to appeal to our early birds, the Chamber offers Networking...With New Members, our new morning version of Chamber Night Out with a few twists.
This continental breakfast is held every other month, beginning in January, and is the morning version of Chamber Night Out, with a few twists. With attendance limited to 50, the emphasis is on getting to know one-another through intensive, effective networking. New members get to do a one-minute commercial, and everyone else will get to give a 30-second commercial. It is held the first Wednesday of every other month beginning in January.
If your place of business can accommodate 50 people in an atmosphere conducive to networking you are eligible to be a host. The event is typically scheduled for the first Wednesday morning of the month at 7:30 a.m. A continental breakfast, coffee and juice are provided by the host. If you are interested in “hosting” this morning event, the Chamber would be glad to help assist you in promotion.
New Member Orientation
The Chamber holds a welcome event for all of the new Chamber members before Chamber Night Out, two times a year. This gathering allows new members to introduce themselves, promote their business, and network extensively. A review of all of the Chamber member benefits will reinforce and teach attendees how to maximize their membership.
Ribbon Cuttings
These ceremonies increase the visibility of Chamber members who are just opening or celebrating a special achievement. They are provided to Chamber members for FREE. Please call the Chamber to schedule your event.
